I eventually sold the game and I no longer have it, which I admit was a mistake on my part because the main part of the game was actually pretty fun. Sound - 9 It's a Sonic game. However, when they rise against Omman, Sonic should be united with his arcade submarine and find him to find mystical lost hex.
They proceed to drain all of the life energy on Sonic's planet and try to kill everyone. I think Sonic Lost World has my least favorite soundtrack in the franchise, but it's still pretty good despite that. Sonic Lost World Review by: - 8. It was released in October 2013 for the 3DS and Wii U. Since it was released after Sonic Generations, one of the most well received Sonic games in a while, people were expecting it to be even better. Did this game meet their expectations? Graphics - 9 This is the first handheld Sonic game to have a full 3D point of view, and it's amazing. The graphics on this game look clean for the most part, considering that it's on the 3DS. It's obviously a huge step up from DS standards. You can almost always clearly see what's in front of you, but there are those times when you can't see anything at all due to awkward camera angles. This almost never happens, though, and I can only recall one instance in when this did happen. Sound - 9 It's a Sonic game. The music is usually going to be amazing no matter what. I think Sonic Lost World has my least favorite soundtrack in the franchise, but it's still pretty good despite that. One of my least favorite tracks is probably the normal Deadly Six theme. I find the trumpets and horns annoying, but thankfully you only hear that once in a while. Every time Sonic jumps I get this funny feeling, and I love it. The only way I think I can describe the noise his jump makes is that it sounds so bouncy. Addictiveness - 8 I'm going to be honest here. After I beat the main game, I tried my best to get as far as I could in the extra stuff, but I just couldn't. They were so hard and unfair, I hated it so much. I eventually sold the game and I no longer have it, which I admit was a mistake on my part because the main part of the game was actually pretty fun. But whenever there's a part that just seems downright unfair and unforgiving, you're going to rage more than you ever have before. Story - 7 Sonic Lost World features one of my least favorite stories in the franchise. Not my least favorite, but it's close to that. Basically, Eggman has gotten hold of something that controls the Deadly Six, but he eventually loses it due to Sonic's stupidity and the Deadly Six take control of Eggman's robots and turn against him. They proceed to drain all of the life energy on Sonic's planet and try to kill everyone. It's a good story, don't get me wrong. I just wish they did more with it in the cutscenes. One thing I will applaud is the interactions between Sonic, Eggman, and Tails. I won't spoil anything for you, but it's pretty entertaining when your arch nemesis teams up with you to fight a common enemy. Depth - 8 Sonic Lost World has a lot of stuff to do. Not as much as recent Mario or Kirby games, but it's enough to keep me satisfied. There are red star rings in each level, and all of them unlock something in the gallery. Once you finish the main game, you unlock hard mode, which is basically all of the levels again, but much harder. There are more obstacles, more enemies, and you only get 1 ring. It sounds impossible, and I never got that far in it because it made me too angry and I sold the game, haha. Difficulty - 8 The difficulty of Sonic Lost World depends on where you are in the game. If you're playing the main game, then difficulty is fairly tame, with some rough spots on the way to the final boss. If you're playing on hard mode, the difficulty settles in at a nice 10 out of 10. Seriously, hard mode is probably the hardest and most impossible looking thing I've ever seen in a game. The level I got stuck on had this weird camera angle that switched whenever you jumped, but there was this giant wall of spikes and it was just ugh stop. I do not recommend going through hard mode, but it's your choice if you wish to 100% the game. In my opinion, it's alright. Not amazing, but not awful either. It's somewhere in the middle, and I think it caught many people off guard since it released after Sonic Generations. I enjoy the parkour system it incorporated, although I know many people who hate it. Sonic Lost World isn't a must buy for 3DS owners, but it is a fun experience for people who like to run around and climb up tons of walls. Graphics 9 Sound 9 Addictive 8 Depth 8 Story 7 Difficulty 8.
